Tom Hinde focuses this wine on the Morisoli Vineyard, a prime benchland site in Rutherford. The 2018 starts out clean and rich, with sweet black raspberry flavors and bold strokes of oak. Return a day or two later, and the wine has emerged from that primary fruit and oak, moving toward scents of roses and Middle Eastern spice. The fruit turns toward black sour cherries while the tannins cushion the tapestry of flavors of scents. Its the kind of tannic beauty that is original to Rutherford.
Features aromas and flavors of cherry, ripe plum and hints of roasted coffee on the palate. Bright and juicy, this wine is full of sweet fruit characteristics balanced by firm tannin's and a velvety, smooth finish.
Clarendelle Medoc, Inspired by Haut-Brion, is a delicate and elegant red wine. Like the great Medocs, often quite tannic when young, it becomes more balanced with age. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it has a solid frame of lovely, ripe, grainy tannins to support the bags of black fruit, finishing with impressive purity. 1,972 cases were made.
This wine definitely qualifies as the most elegant PATRIMONY Cabernet to date. The longer hanging on the vine provides a great tannin structure while maintaining Freshness.
Medium bodied, for Napa Cab, and very pretty showing violets and loads of blue fruit. A very well balanced wine.
Not so intense ruby colored with orange shades. Delicate scent, dry taste.

Dry red wine. The grapes were harvested from the oldest of the winery's plots. Aged for about 22 months in French oak barrels, most of them new. Characterized by an extremely high acidity level, allowing the wine to continue to age for years. The wine has an 'old world' substance, and is suitable for heavy meat meals.
Johan Vineyard is an 85-acre, Demeter-certified biodynamic site in the Willamette Valley, south of McMinnville and west of Salem. This site is almost always our last Pinot pick of harvest. Although it's a relatively low-elevation site, due to its proximity to the coast and the winds that howl through the Van Duzer Corridor every summer afternoon, the fruit here tends to ripen later than in our other vineyards.
