The 2014 Experiment H3.4 wine was aged entirely in 300L barrels, known as "logheads," and the resulting wine has great fruit character and vibrancy. It is a wine with both power and focus, exhibiting lively notes of cherry, plum, sage, violets, boysenberry, and black tea.
Dark, almost inky ruby red in color, with on the nose a powerful attack of sweet and spicy oak with notes of vanilla and cinnamon followed by jammy cherries and cloves.
The wine has a deep ruby-red hue that is framed in rich crimson. Aromas of black cherry and plum, surrounded by roasted coffee beans and vanillin oak accents. The entry is powerful and lush with flavors of bing cherry, blueberry, and cocoa.
The color is bright, deep morello cherry-red. The nose reveals aromas of blackberries, raspberries and ripe strawberries with just a touch of tobacco and spices such as clove and cinnamon.
Aroma: Fruity to the nose. Pineapple and apple notes with a touch of herbal and fresh aromas (citrus and cucumber seeds). Ending with a touch of ash and cloves notes.
This wine shares similar tones and hues as the Maya, with vibrant fruit and spice aromas, and a dark black-purple color. The natural acidity of the vintage comes through, adding to the wine’s volume, while the softness of the tannins make it immediately appealing. In addition to the typical red and black fruit character, the wine is layered with notes of chocolate, freshly cut thyme, and smoke.
