Vinification of Adega Velha 12 Years XO Old Brandy: the grapes, selected for their high acidity and low sugar content, are the source of a light and balanced wine. The wine is then subjected to two slow and careful distillations in a Charentais still, brought from the Cognac Region, in France.
With our usual earlier pick date, the 2021 retained freshness and acidity, allowing the spice, as well as a bit of Cahors earthiness to show itself. Thereby showing the complexity within Malbec to match a wide range of foods from meat dishes to pastas, and Mediterranean fare.
Deep, dark purple red. Extremely fruity. Black cherries, prunes, and raisins are combined with vanilla, caramel, and toasted notes to define a very complex nose. Hints of violets stand out, typical of malbec. Great body, structure, and volume.
Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru "La Truffière" from Domaine Colin is produced in small quantities and has a beautiful upright character and a sublime mineral balance. The premier cru vineyards of La Truffière lie at the top of the hill looking out over the village of Puligny. This very fine wine has wonderful peach, pear and citrus notes, enhanced by a hint of floral, and a long lemony finish. If you haven't done so already, try it now!
