Founded in 1755, Maison Gautier is one of the oldest Cognac Houses. The natural humidity of the Gautier cellars, located just above the river, helps the eaux-de-vie to age harmoniously before they are blended into a Cognac that is smooth, rounded and rich.
Rich, deep burgundy. Aromatic profile features red apples and raspberries. On the palate, bright fresh cherries with toasty elements and just a hint of pepper. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Everything begun fifteen years ago in the ”Fossa di Lupo” area. A place where the land in the evening becomes redish and is brushed by the Ibleian winds and leans on one side of a road: the County Road 68. A county road like many others, but with a special past.
Lovely sensuous palate of wild, alpine fresh spice and succulent flavors. Concentrated with a firm, yet silky presence on the palate and into the very deep, lingering finish. As an excellent digestive and an extremely pleasant liqueur for any occasion or moment of the day.
This wine opens generously with layered aromas of black cherry, plum and currant, roasted coffee, unsweetened cacao, crushed violets, vanilla and nutmeg. Driven by energetic acidity, the palate is tied together by firm tannins, also integrating a glycerin-like, rounded body from the alcohol.
The name has two meanings. The 20-year-old bourbon matured twice as long as the standard Eagle Rare 10-year-old bourbon. Also, the Double Eagle decanter features two sculptured crystal glass eagles, one inside the bottle, while the other serves as the stopper.
