Makashvili Wine Cellar is one of the oldest and most well respected estates in Georgia. The 2018 Khikhvi is produced from estate grown hand harvested grapes from the village of Kardenakhit. It is aged in Qvevri for 6 months with skins and stems.
The opening bouquet is complex and luminous, a mingling of white flowers, citrus and stone fruit. The overall effect is enhanced by the freshness of aniseed and crushed mint. The final aromas offered by the wine are starting to show spicy, woody and roasted notes.
The 2006 Dom Pérignon Rosé is showing well, offering up an expressive bouquet of bitter orange, red berries, apple and a delicate hint of dried flowers and herbs.

QVEVRI Rkatsiteli is a light amber color wine with orange hunts, made In a traditional ancient way. Nose is intense, with aromas of white fruits and fine herbs flavours. Mouth is complex and mineral, finishing on herby aromas and fresh tannins.
Tsitska is made using from Tsitska grape variety, which is cultivated in west Georgia. The wine exhibits a pale straw color. It has strong citrus aromas. The wine has soft, elegant taste joined with pleasant soumess.
The wine is rich ruby color. Notes of oak in the aroma of the wine is harmoniously intertwined with expressive tones of prunes and cherries and lavishly decorated with nuances of spice. The taste of wine repeats the nuances of aroma, impressing its structure with rounded tannins, a warm spicy finish with velvety oak shades. The ancient Georgian word "Gemieri" is translated as tasty and mainly referred to the definition of sweetness. The blend of tree red varietals Aleksandrouli, Saperavi and Malbec shows prominent red and black fruit mix, with light sweetness and balanced astringency. Saperavi is an excellent wine from Georgia, made from Saperavi sort of grape cultivated in Kakhetian region. This wine has a dark ruby color with a cherry flavor and a smooth berry taste. This wine pairs well with veal, lamb and cheese. Best served between 60 °F and 65 °F.
