Perret’s approach to winegrowing is classic: respect each individual terroir—he produces several single-vineyard wines—and work the soil to avoid the need for chemical treatments. His goal is to make fresh, structured wines, in “a sort of Burgundian style” as he says, but without too much wood; wines that aren’t too worked over and will age well.
Straw yellow with green reflections. Bouquet is intense and typical of the variety. There are sharp sensations of delicate white flowers, peach and hawthorn. Sweet, pleasantly cool, with a sparkling light that makes it enjoyable.

From the commune of Savigny-en-Véron, the 2020 Chinon Les Barnabés is sourced from the alluvial soils of the Loire and the gravels from the Vienne. The wine opens pure, clear and fresh, but it's also deep and concentrated, with spicy notes of ripe cherries, black berries, raspberries and violets.
