Very deep purple-black in color, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up fantastically profound notes of baked plums, blackcurrant cordial and blackberry pie with hints of tilled soil, licorice, black truffles, camphor and coffee beans.
Deep garnet-purple, the 2016 Estate ‘Alluvial Selection’ Cabernet Sauvignon comes bounding out of the glass with exuberant crème de cassis, chocolate-covered cherries, charcoal and menthol scents with touches of garrigue, smoked meats and roasted nuts.
Aromas of dark cherries, blueberries, bark and sweet spices, such as cinnamon. Medium-to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Balanced and velvety with a rich core of fruit. Supple, juicy finish. Drink or hold.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Price is powerful and dense in the glass. A touch of reduction attenuates the aromatics, but the Price is always a wine more of texture than anything else, and it is easy to see all of that richness. Beams of tannin add to the wine's energetic feel. It will be interesting to watch how the 2017 develops as it finishes its aging in barrel.
The 2018 Reliquus Cabernet Sauvignon is generous and fleshy, with a delicious nose of red cherry, black plum, leather, roasted red pepper, pot pourri, and dried violets. The palate is round and sublimely textured, with flavors of red fruits, black fig, cocoa powder and baking spices in an effortless balance. This wine pairs beautifully with food and is perfectly accessible now, and will also continue to integrate and develop with time in the cellar.
Double Diamond opens with layered, captivating aromas of black currants, dark cherries, blackberry, toast and oak spice. Rich and juicy on the palate, long and lingering in the mouth.
“Lush aromatics of cassis and complements of pencil shavings and graphite, it’s just a really elegant wine that’s drinkable upon release—but also has the structure and tannins to carry it in aging.” — Carol Schrader
