The aromas of this complex red wine range from cherries and plums to gladiolus flowers and earthy flint. The tannic, oak-aged flavors are bright and round, with a dry, warm, earthy finish. Best enjoyed with very flavorful dishes, such as tomato-based sauces, mushroom ravioli, beef or pork roasts, and game meats from venison to pheasant. It is also excellent with mature cheeses.
Ruby red with violet hues. Intense and broad aromatic baggage, where notes of succulent red fruits emerge and give way to spicy characters of licorice and roasted coffee. Powerful and structured, with velvety tannins in balance with a vibrant, crisp character. Finish of remarkable length and savoriness.
This is a blend of Grignolino, Pinot Noir and two ancient native grapes from this area that Fabrizio is helping to revive- a red grape called Slarina and a white called Baratuciat. This is on the lighter side of medium with racy red fruit and spice, perfect with a chill next to anything grilled.
Barone Fini Merlot is a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of Italy, showcasing the skillful blend of traditional methods and modern innovation that characterizes the vineyard's approach. This Merlot is cultivated in the fertile soils of Italy's renowned wine regions, where the grapes achieve their full potential under the nurturing Mediterranean climate.
The 2019 Barolo Ravera di Monforte is a powerful, searing wine. Red cherry fruit, leather, cedar, mint, iron, white pepper and dried flowers build in a mid-weight, tannic Barolo that is going to need time to be at its best. There is good tension and energy, but my impression is that the 2019 is recovering from its bottling, as it is very tight and sinewy in feel today.
The Altero was made from a selection of the best wine in the cellar. Aged for 30 months in French oak tonneaux (500 l), followed by 18 months of bottle refinement, the vintage is definitely cellar worthy. Juicy red currants, cherries, and sprigs of fresh rosemary are robed in vanilla and baking spice with just a wisp of smoke. Best with BBQ or lightly smoked meats and cheeses.
CastelGiocondo 2017 has an intense, bright ruby-red color. Like every vintage, 2017 brought with it a wonderfully elegant quality. The bouquet features fruity aromas, particularly at the beginning, with notes of raspberry, blackcurrant and even pomegranate.
Intense ruby red. On the nose, hints of blueberry jam, chalk and black pepper. Rich and complex on the palate, with notes of blackcurrant and Mediterranean spices. The tannins are present but tapered.
Sedàra from Sicilian top producer Donnafugata. A young wine made primarily from autochthonous grapes. A modern wine that has an immediate pleasantness. It offers a fruity and pleasantly spicy bouquet - a glass of quality wine, perfect for everyday drinking.
Dark ruby red color. Intense and elegant aromas of ripe fruit and spices, with a slight scent of vanilla and tobacco. Persistent and warm taste, velvety and harmonic.Fine red meat, chateaubriand and beef fillet, risotto, medium-high aged cheeses. Its slender shape helps cleanse the palate when combined with stews, ragù or with the classic Veronese boiled meats.
