This rosé from the Côtes de Provence is all about the Grenache, a favorite of the winemaker. It embodies the classic Provençal style, with aromas of grapefruit, white peaches, and herbs. You can taste the influence of the region’s idyllic oceans and sun-soaked, floral hillsides in the elegant citrus flavors and mineral-driven palate.
Generous and lively on the nose with notes of apricot, wild peach, complex pastry aromas and hints of the Garrigue. On the palate, full, ample and intense with delicate notes of fresh flowers, yellow fruit, almonds and sweet spices, followed by a touch of honey. A long, complex and mineral finish.
The Matton-Farnets have been in the wine industry for almost three centuries, beginning at the Domaine de Chateauneuf in Vidauban, and continuing at Château Minuty from 1936 where Gabriel Farnet, the grandfather of François and Jean-Etienne, the current owners, set up.

Stéphane Usseglio, son of Raymond, has taken over the domaine in the last few years and he is pushing to reach the potential of the family’s holdings, some of he best of Châteauneuf. Half his vines are situated near the road in the lieu-dit “La Crau” and the other half on the hill across the road from the actual ruins of the new castle of the Pope.
Chateau Holden is an exceptional wine that has been in production since the 16th century. Its soil is mostly gravelly, with a mix of clayey limestone and Oligocene marls. On the nose, it has delectable aromas of vanilla, redcurrants, juicy blackberries, violets, and a hint of Madagascar pepper.
