The 2018 Sancerre Blanc Les Romains offers lovely textural depth and fine balance. Lemon confit, marzipan, spice and floral notes add that extra bit of pliancy and resonance that gives the wine its soft curves and open-knit personality.
Deep and bright ruby. Fruity and spiced. Reminiscent of ripe berries, morello cherry, warm spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg), truffles, game and cedar. Elegant and well balanced with mature flavours of leather, spiced forest fruits and roasted game.
Markovic Estates Shiraz Semi Sweet 2019 bursts with big, ripe jammy fruit and a semi-sweet, spicy structure on the palate. Its bold flavors make it a perfect match for red meat, deli, barbecue, and cheese.
Planted in the grand cru vineyard Brand, the vines are north facing, ideal for Pinot Noir in this climate, as the wine is guaranteed to be fresh even in hot vintages. Compared to his Pinot Noir "S," also grown on granite, this cuvée is a little denser, very smooth, silky, and spicy, a wine obviously influenced by his love for Burgundy.
The color is a beautiful ruby red with violet highlights. Expressive on the nose, with jammy red fruits and soft spices. Particularly silky on the mouth, with very fine grain tannins. This wine also shows a very nice freshness.
Domaine Jean Grivot is among the great names in Burgundian wine. Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over from Étienne’s father Jean Grivot in 1987. The vineyards are densely planted and farmed organically “sans certification” while the aim in the cellar is for balance and clear expression of terroir.
Color: Ruby red with garnet reflections.Bouquet: Floral and fruity aromas. Full-bodied and complex, with notes of iris, spices and ripe fruit.Flavour: When young, violet and cherry notes dominate. After a few years, the bouquet develops aromas of iris, spices and ripe fruit. Later, aromas of undergrowth and truffle begin to appear, followed by musk.
From the commune of Savigny-en-Véron, the 2020 Chinon Les Barnabés is sourced from the alluvial soils of the Loire and the gravels from the Vienne. The wine opens pure, clear and fresh, but it's also deep and concentrated, with spicy notes of ripe cherries, black berries, raspberries and violets.
Plummy purple in colour with aromas of ripe red and black fruit on the nose. On the palate it is silky and smooth with a hint of spice from the Cabernet grapes. Supple tannins are also present, but not overpowering.
Jean-Marc’s Bourgogne Blanc is a value play for those in the know. The Bourgogne vines are located below Chassagne in the commune of Remigny. Jean-Marc also allocates up to 15% of each press of the Village and 1er Cru whites to be blended into the Bourgogne Blanc.
