The 2018 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux is clear, deep, pure and flinty on the intense but fine and coolish-mineral nose.
Color: A bright dark wine shot through with highlights.
Nose: The noticeable red fruit in the nose is accompanied by aromas of cinnamon and spice.
This Meursault is pale yellow in color with green highlights and a subtle and fresh nose of citrus fruits and vanilla, with some oak adding a certain complexity. It is still quite tight on the back-palate.
Deep and bright ruby. Fruity and spiced. Reminiscent of ripe berries, morello cherry, warm spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg), truffles, game and cedar. Elegant and well balanced with mature flavours of leather, spiced forest fruits and roasted game.
This Grape is a 100% Merlot. Its scent of Red Berries (Strawberry, Rasberry) and Cherries. Its taste is fine, light semi sweet wild red berries with soft tannins.
The 2011 has tremendous focus, with sap and salt character offsetting the victoria plum, cherry, strawberry, and fruit liqueur richness. 100% Pinot Noir.
Jean-Marc’s Bourgogne Blanc is a value play for those in the know. The Bourgogne vines are located below Chassagne in the commune of Remigny. Jean-Marc also allocates up to 15% of each press of the Village and 1er Cru whites to be blended into the Bourgogne Blanc.
This wine has a beautiful garnet color with purple highlights. The nose reveals scents of violet and blackcurrant. With a beautiful structure, this wine does not lack finesse, nor harmony.
Tasted at the château, the 2005 Chateau d’Yquem delivers a similar performance as last year. Lucid in colour, the bouquet is detailed with very pure honey, vanilla and almond scents, still a little new oak to be fully assimilated but demonstrating superb focus.
Matured in concrete vats, this wine exhibits a brilliant red color with violet glints. An aroma of blackcurrant and raspberries, the mouth is rounded with a soft fruity finish without excess tannins.
The more limited cuvee, the 2007 Gigondas Terrasses des Dentelles, exhibits super precision, a terrific minerality that comes through the lavish amounts of black raspberry, blueberry, and spring flower characteristics, superb ripeness, a saturated ruby/purple color, full-bodied power, and admirable elegance, purity, and acidity.
This buttery Chardonnay was fermented at low temperature and matured on fine lees. An elegant nose confirmed by a well-balanced palate makes this wine a perfect accompaniment for fish in sauce. It is also very pleasant on its own if served slightly chilled.
