Almaden White Zinfandel is a refreshing and crisp blush wine, featuring delicate strawberry aromas that invite a light, fruity experience. Its fresh, drinkable nature makes it an easy choice for casual sipping or pairing with light dishes.
Grenache (Garnacha) "Gambrels of the Sky" comes from an Emily Dickinson poem entitled “I dwell in Possibility,” and though this feels a little lofty, it seemed appropriate for a wine dedicated to my remarkable grandmother, Frances Howard Peterson. Not only did she love poetry, she also loved cooking, science, and wine.
The Opus One 2021 effuses seductive, dark-fruit aromas of crushed cassis, blackberry, and black cherry with subtle hints of violet, vanilla, and baking spices. Bright and fresh on the attack, concentrated flavors mirror the aromas and are coupled with an exceptionally plush, creamy texture in the mid-palate from the fine-grained tannins.
Liberty Creek Moscato is sweet, crisp, and light-bodied with delicious flavors of pineapple and citrus. Perfect as a refreshing beverage by itself, it also pairs well with sweet desserts and spicy foods.
The origin of Lot C-91 began in the fall of 1969 when Joe Heitz created this one-off cuvée, which was very normal in those days, as a more premium version of his already iconic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon bottling. Joe envisioned Lot C-91 as a greater step up in quality from the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, with a higher quality of fruit sourcing, coming exclusively from the sought-after single vineyards of Heitz Cellar.
“Lush aromatics of cassis and complements of pencil shavings and graphite, it’s just a really elegant wine that’s drinkable upon release—but also has the structure and tannins to carry it in aging.” — Carol Schrader
A white wine that is both light and crisp, Carlo Rossi? Chablis also offers a nice, clean finish. Fragrant flavors of ripe pear add depth and give this wine a lasting appeal.
Aromas of cassis, black cherry and dark plum mingle with subtle hints of vanilla, anise, tobacco and a touch of clove. The palate is full, rich, and bursting with dark fruit. Lush, well-balanced tannins carry the wine through to an incredibly long and silky finish.
The Dalla Valle wines from the 2011 vintage are an achievement. In many parts of Napa Valley, the season brought challenges, like cool temperatures, early rain, and a relatively late harvest.
Lucious, dark and thick wine. Serve with desserts, pastries and fruit, and after dinner. Kedem Port is another success from this historic New York State winery. Ideal for Kiddush, it is also a lovely aperitif or after-dinner drink.
