The Federalist Honest Red Blend pays homage to one of the most highly regarded American President’s of all time, Abraham Lincoln. A good entrance with flavors of dark fruits and spice. A rich round mouth feel with a long finish.
The Ashes & Diamonds 2019 Blanc No. 5 is a pristine blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon by Steve Matthiasson, offering a glimpse into Napa's styles of days gone by. Produced from our own steep hillside vineyards which bring out a uniquely textured wine. Planted with the very small berry clone "Old Wente," which is known for balance and aromatic complexity. The growing conditions of 2020 produced a rich yet firm wine. The percentage of new French oak barrels is held to a maximum of 30% to keep vineyard character in the forefront.
Mighty in concentration, depth and elegance. The bouquet shows beautiful freshness with a cascade of red and dark berry fruit notes followed by hints of rose petal and violet. Rich, with a full-bodied structure on the palate, the wine is complex and expressive, revealing layers of blackcurrant, bright raspberry, dark cherry and cassis, followed by hints of cedar, cinnamon, clove and mocha.
Fermented and then aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, the Herzog Special Reserve Reserve Chardonnay is a cool, terroir-oriented wine. While the Russian River Valley's unique climate contributes top notes of lime, chamomile, and tropical fruit, this lovely wine is overlaid with a bouquet of toasty vanilla and oak. Serve as a wonderful companion to grilled fish, veal picata, or grilled vegetables.
Pale straw in color with a nose that leaps from the glass, reminiscent of lemon curd, green apple, and hints of jasmine flower. On the palate, the wine bursts with a bright and brilliant array of citrus, from makrut lime to Meyer lemon peel, interwoven with an ever-present stony minerality. Its fresh acidity is complemented by a subtle hint of oak and marzipan from barrel age.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Price is powerful and dense in the glass. A touch of reduction attenuates the aromatics, but the Price is always a wine more of texture than anything else, and it is easy to see all of that richness. Beams of tannin add to the wine's energetic feel. It will be interesting to watch how the 2017 develops as it finishes its aging in barrel.
