Dazzling straw-gold in color, the wine serves up superrich aromas of ripe pineapple, vanilla bean, raw coconut, and honeyed lemon. The entry is supremely lush with complex flavors of roasted fig, apricot, green apple, and orchard fruit.
Fossil & Fawn started out as a completely reasonable idea in the late summer of 2011, and quickly spiraled into a much more complex, frustrating, terrifying, and unbelievably rewarding venture.
Bright and clear in the glass, this wine reveals aromas of grapefruit and Meyer lemon with hints of just ripe pineapple. Light-bodied but round in texture, the crisp acidity and a lively flavor of white peach and melon lead to a vibrant, fresh finish.
In 1986, a small block of Abbey Ridge vineyard was specially planted with the Martin Ray Massale of Pino Noir. Now, 30 years later, we harvested and fermented these vines separately to produce 2 berrels of an exceptional wine.
