For over 35 years, the Herzog and Watts families have worked together to grow spectacular Zinfandel in the Mokelumne River region of Lodi. This Zinfandel is crafted from vines up to 80 years old, capturing intense flavors and rich texture. The wine is balanced and not overly sweet, a style modeled after some of the most historic Late Harvest wines of France.
This wine gives aromas of ripe red fruit, blackberry pie, dried cranberries with hints of brown sugar and warm baking spices. Powdery tannins lend structure to this wine, while maintaining elegance and ending in a long lingering finish.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon checks in as a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, and 2% Merlot that spent 22 months in 75% new French oak.
