This beauty really delivers with its mind-boggling array of lemon tart, ripe orange, marmalade, grapefruit, flower oil, honey, and wafts of struck flint. Medium-bodied, the palate reveals a stunning, satiny texture with loads of savory layers and ample acidity providing great lift.
From the winemaker: In 1987, we made our first vintage of a wine styled after the famous First Growth producers of Bordeaux, created with the same uncompromising care as the Grands Vins of those venerable chateaux.
The grapes used to produce this wine originate from California's famous Clarksburg apellation. It displays all the wonderful elements characteristic of this varietal. Exhibits fruity notes of gooseberry, white peach, and nectarine.
This enjoyably sweet wine is pointedly "Jeunesse" - French for youthful, flavorful and fun. Jeunesse Black Muscat displays a beautiful deep red color with aromatic notes of pineapple and apple.
Penfolds Quantum Bin 98 is the continuation of a twenty-year endeavor from when Australian vine cuttings were planted in Californian soil. This wine, though possessing the characteristic suaveness of the site, does possess a trace more density than years past–likely due to the additional thinning passes we made. It was also an exceptional year for Mataro in a generally very strong year at the site, and the variety makes up over 30% of the blend.
“The Brooklynites 3.0,” our third orange wine, is made from Gewurztraminer grapes grown in Los Carneros, Napa Valley. The orange hue of this wine comes from the skin contact and maceration during fermentation; the same process that gives red wine its color, tannins and also contributes to its flavor.
Dark Horse Cabernet is made from a blend of hand-selected grapes grown predominantly in the Lodi and Delta winegrowing areas of California's Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys. The 2021 Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon was carefully aged to develop dark fruit flavors and dark roast aromas.
Baron Herzog Central Coast Merlot grapes are carefully selected to produce a wine with aromas of red cherries, strawberry jam and spice, with a rich mouth feel and finish. Enjoy Baron Herzog Merlot at room temperature with grilled lamb chops or roasted poultry.
