Buffalo Trace is unveiling a new O.F.C. Vintage bourbon this fall. The bourbon whiskey in this release was distilled and rolled into the warehouse to rest in 1994, a year which saw box office hits like “Forrest Gump,” “The Lion King” and “Pulp Fiction,” and headlines documented Nelson Mandela’s inauguration as South African president and OJ Simpson’s infamous white Ford Bronco chase.
The oldest release from GlenDronach's 15th batch of single cask bottlings - a 27 year old single malt aged in a Pedro Ximenéz Sherry puncheon! This was distilled in April 1990 and bottled at cask strength in May 2017, with an outturn of just 546 bottles.
This whiskey is named after a fire in 1910 shut down the bottling line for Old Forester. Tastes of chocolate, spice, and cookies with notes of buttercream and apricot. Smooth and spicy finish.
Taken from the very last 1984 casks from Talisker, set aside and guarded for decades for their promising potential. At the time few knew of Talisker’s tempestuous maritime character, but there was something special about these 1984 casks that made the distiller set them aside.
The Macallan ASB-1683/13 Cask Scotch 1950 is a rare and exquisite single malt, aged to perfection in a 1st Fill American Oak Sherry Butt. Limited to just 336 bottles, this 53.4% ABV masterpiece features a polished nose of antique oak, peaches, and vanilla, with a palate of intense oak, orange zest, warm ginger, and subtle peat.
A first, and last, this is the first 1987 The Singleton of Glen Ord vintage and the only one ever to be released, from the last casks that remain. Slow crafting and patience were key to this rare bottling, taking time to distil the liquid and see each cask reach its peak. The result is an elegant liquid with a fragrant nose and creamy-smooth texture. The sweetly satisfying taste holds deep fruity flavours with hints of ginger.
Founded in 1837 by farmers George and John Rate, twenty miles from the heart of Edinburgh, Glenkinchie was completely rebuild in the 1890s to become a large model distillery.
First produced in 1860 (when it was just 'The Grouse'), The Famous Grouse has been the No. 1 whisky in Scotland since 1980. One of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland, Famous Grouse is a very nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896.
Carstairs White Seal Whiskey is a blend of Bourbons, grain whiskeys, and neutral spirits. The taste is sharp and biting just like the finish. Some of the old ad materials from the 1950s are current collectors items.
This is the fourth released in the highly acclaimed Bond House No. 1 Collection. Grand Vintage 1991 is a tribute to the few who redoubled their quest for perfection during the early 1990s, when extra-maturation was in its infancy at the distillery.
