The second release of the Bookers Bourbon 2023 Collection is Bookers Batch 2023-02 Apprentice Batch. This batch pays homage to the early days of my dad Booker Noes career far before he was the Sixth Generation Master Distiller when he first learned the art of making bourbon under the guidance of his cousin Carl Beam.
Mash: 95% Rye , 5% malted marley. Nose: Baking Spices, Apricot, Fresh cut grass, Ginger. Palate: Vanilla, Mint & Sweet Orange. Finish: More mint and pepper.
Light amber in color with aromas of buttered lemon, praline, and cream. Medium body with light smoke and peat balanced with spice and honey notes. A nice, zesty finish. Enjoy neat or on the rocks.
On the nose, this whiskey presents citrus and sweet spices. On the palate, it is sweet and mellow, with notes of vanilla, nutmeg and bitters. Best enjoyed neat, at room temperature.
New York Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Peated Scotch Barrels. We send our ex-bourbon barrels across the Atlantic where they're used to age peated whiskey, then emptied and returned to our distillery where we fill them up again with straight rye whiskey.
Very sweet with a smooth, creamy texture, this is a Speyside whisky with chocolate and custard notes early on that indicate the dessert nature of this tipple, with slight zesty, tropical fruity notes showing that it also has a vibrant side.
