Aberfeldy 15-Year-Old Limited Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky Finished in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Casks
The Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks from the Napa Valley bestow berries and spice, imparting a refined blush on Aberfeldy’s honeyed malt in this latest release from the Red Wine Cask Collection.
This single malt whisky from BenRiach distillery in Speyside has been created from a combination of peated and non peated whiskies. The whisky has aged for 25 years in a unique marriage of sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and Madeira wine casks. The result is a complex and well balanced whisky that intertwines perfectly smoke with rich fruits, and is bottled at 46% ABV.
If the sight of this golden honeyed spirit invites you on a journey, then on the first breath your destination is revealed. It's Islay. A nose full of beachside fires and you are well on the way. One sip, and you're there; the tang of the sea sweeps over you like the spray from an Atlantic roller.
Edition 14.3 of Bruichladdich’s Octomore series was made with 100% Concerto Barley from Octomore farm on Islay and matured for five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks. This super heavily-peated style from Octomore has given the whisky rich aromas of burnt biscuit, plump apricots and butterscotch on the nose which leads to an earthy smokiness on the palate with notes of peat stacks, honeysuckle and toasted barley.
Lagavulin Distillers Edition benefited from refining in second maturing Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, which contained a wine made from sun-dried grapes with intense flavors. Masterfully chosen for its grainy sweetness, it magically accentuates and deepens every aspect of the rich and intense character of Lagavulin.
46% - Sourced from casks from one of Japan’s most sought-after trees, Mizunara oak, the result is a whisky designed to bottle some of the wonders of Tokyo– multi-faceted, contradictory, and always surprising!
From a distillery located right on the Highlands and the Lowlands border, this 10 Yr is dominated by the malt. The nose is full, refined and elegant and the palate light and fruity. Has an interesting finish, marked by some malty notes, and hints of walnut.
