Aged entirely in first - fill ex- bourbon casks, it has a beautiful rich golden color. On the nose, it has a very soft vanilla and banana notes. On the palate, it has notes of caramel, allspice, honey, and dark fruits.
Made using six first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks, four first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks, and five refill casks, the tasting notes include grated nutmeg, root ginger & sun-ripened orange peel, leading to ripe mango, pear, and vanilla flavors.
The darkness of the hue of this...gives an indication of how intense the relationship between cask and spirit has been over its long sequestration...Dense aromas such as tamarind paste, treacle and Black Forest gateau...There's a lift of vanilla like sweetness.

This stylish Lalique crystal decanter pays homage to Macallan’s curiously small stills – which are essential to creating the distillery’s heavyweight, concentrated spirit. On the nose there are aromas of overripe banana, white peach and shortbread biscuit, whilst the palate displays notes of marshmallow lemon sherbet, pear drops and toasted oak.
