The 2019 Limited Edition Small Batch marks the first Four Roses limited-quantity bottling to feature a 21-year-old Bourbon from the distillery’s OBSV recipe. This release will also feature a 15-year-old OESK, 15-year-old OESV and 11-year-old OESV.
Non-chill filtered and bottled at a 114.2 proof, the 2021 Limited Edition Small Batch features a 16-year-old Bourbon from the OBSV recipe, a 14-year-old OBSQ, a 12-year-old OESK, and a 16-year-old OESV.
The name has two meanings. The 20-year-old bourbon matured twice as long as the standard Eagle Rare 10-year-old bourbon. Also, the Double Eagle decanter features two sculptured crystal glass eagles, one inside the bottle, while the other serves as the stopper.
The name of this bourbon is attributed to one of an American famous gunsmith Henry Derringer. He designed The Philadelphia Deringer - a popular concealed carry percussion handgun of the era.
