The 2019 Coeur de Vigne represents a vibrant rendition of a classic Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. Made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the nose offers rich aromas of blackberry and blueberry that meld with hints of graphite, lavender and thyme.
This Langhe Nebbiolo is produced by the Alberto Ballarin winery, located in La Morra, one of the most fascinating villages in the Langhe. The winery was founded in the 80s by the will of Luigi and his sons Giorgio and Giovanni.

Gavi is crafted from the Cortese grape cultivated in the sun-drenched Terre del Gavi hills of Piedmont. Even at this early stage, this wine is long on flavor and texture, showing all the red raspberry and blackberry fruit that were apparent at harvest. Also coming forward are layers of dark chocolate, graphite, incense, and a wide array of baking spices.
This wine is phenomenally dark in color, and while it is rich in tannin and extract, the texture is silky, polished and long. In its youth, the wine is showing notes of mocha, cassis, black cherry, clay, and smoke.
