This Meursault is pale yellow in color with green highlights and a subtle and fresh nose of citrus fruits and vanilla, with some oak adding a certain complexity. It is still quite tight on the back-palate.
The 2012 is quite pale at the present time, with brilliant green highlights. The nose is well-defined and mineral. Still very young and quite elegant, this wine has yet to reveal its full complexity.

While Silvaner remains the second most planted grape (after Riesling) in Germany, it has always remained tucked in the shadows. Frank Heyden quietly makes this example from old vines, and the quality shines so brightly that all shadows disappear in a fresh, zesty, mouth-wateringly delicious wash of Silvaner-ish-ness. With aromas of black currant and thyme, this ruby-colored wine is bright in the mouth from first sip to zesty finish. Barely-there tannins support flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, Seville orange, oregano and sage.
