A white wine that is both light and crisp, Carlo Rossi? Chablis also offers a nice, clean finish. Fragrant flavors of ripe pear add depth and give this wine a lasting appeal.
Ripe and tart red cherry flavors are framed by toasted vanilla oak and wild anise. Soft earthiness, cedar cigar box, green herbs and toasted nuts also emerge along with a little exotic spice and dark cocoa.
The single non-local vineyard, Hanspeter is super stoked by the site, which is a half-hour away on the lower hills of the Black Forest, on limestone layered with iron-rich clay, in a strikingly high elevation of almost 2,000 feet.

Part of Domaines Martin, which also owns Château Gloria in Saint-Julien, this wine benefits from a classed-growth winery's attention to detail. The wine is rich, dense and structured. Its black-plum and blackberry fruits are rich, sustained by fine tannins and acidity.
Aromas of cassis, black cherry and dark plum mingle with subtle hints of vanilla, anise, tobacco and a touch of clove. The palate is full, rich, and bursting with dark fruit. Lush, well-balanced tannins carry the wine through to an incredibly long and silky finish.
