Asconi Sol Negru Merlot 2016 captivates with its deep ruby red color, radiating elegance and richness. The wine opens with an inviting fruity aroma that is both vibrant and enticing, featuring prominent notes of ripe cherries complemented by subtle hints of other red fruits.
This rich release from Zeni hits all the marks we are looking for in a handmade, expressive example of Amarone. Deep ruby red with a garnet red tinge. Stylish and elegant with notes of preserved fruits and hints of cocoa and spices. Harmonic, complex and velvety.
Zeni Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso Marogne 2021 boasts a deep ruby red color and a rich bouquet of black cherry and well-ripened fruit. On the palate, it is rounded, velvety, and full-bodied with a lingering finish.
Exquisite balance of ripe fruit and oak here, melding together nicely on the full-bodied palate with well-placed tannins that create a pleasant, velvety and fruity carpet that glides gently through the long finish. So well constructed and will be utterly delicious for a long while yet.
Sal da Terra is comprised of wine from two of Eulogio’s own parcels. The first, Francón, is immediately adjacent to the Ría de Arousa which gives it direct Atlantic influence. The soils are sandy granite and red clay with 35-year-old vines trained on pergolas.
Deep red and blue fruits dance with saline minerals, licorice, crushed flowers, gamey underbrush, and spice in this vibrant, velvety ’11 Morey-St-Denis. Fine-grained, polished tannins coat the cheeks as this wine crosses the palate with a silky, sophisticated feel.
Dignitary Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes grown at the base of Chalk Hill, where a slightly warmer climate and rich volcanic soils create ideal conditions for the clone. The wine is aged unfiltered for 18 months in French oak barrels.
Smooth, with a floral perfume, red cherries and berries, and some toasty sweet spice. Pleasingly savoury too, with some dusty layers of wet leaves, meat, and mushroom.
Each of the select vineyards has contributed its dramatic character that led to the creation of a complete, deep, and harmonic wine. Following 18 months maturation in oak barrels, the final blend is dark and concentrated with raspberry, blueberry, and plum fragrance, as well as roasted oak, coffee, and soil.
