Pink-hued and funky, this skin-contact orange wine brims with clementine and orange peel notes on the nose, supported by an overtone of honeysuckle. The light palate has a texture reminiscent of citrus pith and tingles with freshness, while clementine and white pepper notes are highlighted by the bone-dry nature. This riserva has a luminous ruby red color. Appealing aromas of dark cherries, plums, sweet spice, violets, vanilla and hints of dark chocolate and menthol emerge on the nose. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but smooth with an almost creamy mouthfeel.
In the glass, it has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, the bouquet is decisive with floral notes and hints of red berry fruit and a spicy aftertaste. The taste is soft and enveloping and the ever present tannins are never invasive.
This Zinfandel offers aromas of blueberry, black stone fruit, and black pepper. The palate is smooth with polished tannins and flavors of berries, vanilla, black pepper, and toasty oak, leading to an elegant, balanced, rich, and long finish.
The White Scandal is born from a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pecorino grapes. The decision to combine two internationally renowned grape varieties with an indigenous Abruzzo grape caused a scandal within the local winemaking community.
