Zion Winery Capital Merlot is a very impressive wine for its price. It is rich and intense and requires a long opening before drinking. When opened, a wealth of deep flavors are revealed with spices that continue well into the finish.
Merlot essence is an exquisite red wine characterized by its combination of enchanting red fruit profile including cherry and strawberry aromas with subtle scents of tobacco and pine needles.
Beautiful clean garnet wrapped in a royal purple robe with violets, blueberries/raspberries with a gentle note of sweet vanilla. Medium-bodied with raspberries, blueberries, plums with bracing acidity, spicy-sweet vanilla/searing tannins on a moderately long finish.
A dry red wine, dark, with a nose of dried fruit, candied cherry, and prune. These aromas are joined by scents of caramel and vanilla together with the sweetness of wood. The wine has a velvety smooth body, and a slightly sweet finish filled with fruit.
With a dark garnet color, this medium-bodied Cabernet sports a fruit-forward profile with loads of black and red fruit and spices and herbs on the finish. It pairs well with a hearty stew or rib steak.
Due to its distinctiveness, aging will further enhance its taste. This Merlot was aged in new French oak barrels for 20 months. It is a deep red in color with aromas of fruit and coffee. It has intense fruit flavors and is beautifully balanced.
The Cave "Old Vines" represents the Cave winery's masterpiece. This fine wine was made from quality Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on mature vines that were planted in the early 1980's in Kerem Ben Zimra in the upper Galilee region of Israel.

Medium bodied, pleasantly sweet, with notes of candied grapefruit, ripe guava, baked apple, lemon lifesaver, refreshing acidity with a moderately long, honeyed finish. A delicious dessert wine.
