Winemaker, Eli Ben-Zaken, crafts this wine by allocating a portion of premium grape varietals - Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc - destined for the winery's flagship wine, Domaine du Castel Grand Vin. A sweet and precise dessert wine with layers of tropical fruit, citrus peels and sweet spices, along with a subtle minerality. Has a dominant and very long ending. Made of Gewurztraminer grapes from a late harvest from vineyards in the Upper Galilee. The wine matured for 6 months in French oak barrels.
Our first Chenin Blanc was meticulously harvested early in the season to retain its acidity and aromas. This wine underwent partial aging in the finest oak barrels. Exhibiting a bright straw hue, this well-structured wine boasts aromas reminiscent of fresh spring flowers, guava, ripe citrus fruit, and Anjou pear.
Zion Winery Capital Merlot is a very impressive wine for its price. It is rich and intense and requires a long opening before drinking. When opened, a wealth of deep flavors are revealed with spices that continue well into the finish.
1848 2nd Generation Syrah is a wine with a unique combination of freshness and depth of flavors. The wine is fruity, earthy, and very spicy, but also has a wonderful and pleasant finish.
With a dark garnet color, this medium-bodied Cabernet sports a fruit-forward profile with loads of black and red fruit and spices and herbs on the finish. It pairs well with a hearty stew or rib steak.
