The pot still whiskey filled into those casks is packed with Midleton’s characteristic orchard fruit and spice, enhanced by a set of secondary flavours unique to one tree, from one forest, on a single estate in Ireland.
It is a delightful smooth mix of crisp marula fruit, a long and smooth palate with a finish that is superbly smooth. Amarula is local cream alcohol of South Africa that is made with sugar, cream and the product of the African Marula tree (likewise called the Elephant Tree or Marriage Tree!)
