Camille Giroud Bourgogne Rouge 2018
Regional Appellations are wines that can be made out of a blend of several locations, recognized within the appellation area. Wine merchant-maturer is a special profession, involving the careful selection of the best parcels for winemaking, according to the vintage.
Pinot Noir originates from the first wild vines selected by mankind. It was probably cultivated in Gaul before the Roman invasion. Its presence is recorded in Burgundy during the 4th century after Jesus Christ. “Pinot Vermeil” is mentioned in the region’s hospital register dating back to 1375. It is the only grape variety, maintaining the same name for so many centuries. More of a homebody than a traveller, it symbolizes the almost mythical relationship between a grape variety and its terroir.
