Booker's Charlie's Batch 2023-01 is a special edition bourbon honoring Charlie Hutchens, the craftsman behind Booker’s signature wooden boxes and a longtime family friend.

This batch, the first release in the 2023 Booker’s Bourbon Collection, is composed of barrels from four production dates aged in four different warehouses, with a balanced mix from warehouses Q, G, Z, and 1. The amber-colored bourbon offers a nose of oak, toasted nuts, and vanilla—aromas reminiscent of Booker Noe’s preferred profiles. Its taste is perfectly balanced with a subtle warmth, leading to a pleasant and satisfying finish.

Charlie Hutchens, a former employee of Booker Noe, began crafting the iconic Booker’s Bourbon wooden boxes in his garage and has continued to perfect his craft for decades. His dedication to detail mirrors Booker Noe’s passion for creating exceptional whiskey, making him a fitting inspiration for this batch. Over the years, Charlie has expanded his woodworking business to support other Beam family projects, including custom furniture for the Fred B. Noe Distillery. Still living near the distillery, Charlie enjoys fishing and spending time with family in South Carolina.
