Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon

Ruby red color with a violet tint. The nose offers a complex mixture of jammy black fruit aromas, especially blackcurrant with smoky spicy notes. Fresh and fruity on the attack, the wine is both powerful and well balanced, with nicely forward tannins. Ripe black fruit flavors linger on the long and harmonious finish. Pair with chicken with herbs, aubergines ("eggplant"), veal kidneys, or charcuterie.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., established in 1933, is located at Pauillac in the Medoc. Famous for two centuries, first in banking then in wine, the Rothschild name comes from the German phrase "Das Rote Schild"—a reference to the Red Shield which originally served as the family sign. They have been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category—from the chateaux wines like the renowned Chateau Mouton Rothschild, their flagship wine, to branded wines such as the famous Mouton Cadet. In the south of France, the Pays d'Oc offers an extraordinary variety of terroirs. Among them, Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers have selected the best parcels for growing the Cabernet Sauvignon grape.
