Asterisk Proprietary Red 2009

The 2009 Asterisk is an alluring wine of finesse and balance. Accentuated by a seamless integration of luxurious fruit, concentrated flavors, and silky tannins, it is delightfully drinkable now and promises great enjoyment into the future. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Estate grown, produced, & bottled by Sloan Estate, perched atop the eastern hills of the Rutherford appellation of the Napa Valley. Planted in 1997 to just over 13 acres of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and petit verdot, the exceptional vineyard sits on mineral-rich, well-drained soils of sandy loam and fractured volcanic ash at elevations ranging from 875 to 990 feet. The terroir of the hillside vineyard consistently allows the grapes to attain optimal physiological ripeness and produce exquisite wines characterized by extraordinary intensity, remarkable purity, fruit finesse, and minerality.
