The wine color is a deep bordeaux with a tinge of black. Its aroma combines blackberries, ripe cherries, dried plum, and prime tobacco. The taste is full bodied and its pleasant tannins enhance the the abundant fruit flavors. Balanced acidity gives the wine richness and harmony. The wine has a very long finish. Pair with rich meat dishes or full-flavored hard cheeses. An elegant and complex wine which will age and improve for many years.
88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Mourvedre. The traditional Tunisian jewelry depicted on the main label reflects the origins of Alexander Shalom. \ The flagship series of the Alexander Winery is Alexander the Great, the first wine in the series is the Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is produced from the winery's finest vineyards: cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, and mourvedre grapes. Regal cabernet sauvignon grapes are grown in the Kerem Ben-Zimra. The 33-year-old vineyards produce 500 kilo per dunam. Manual harvesting takes place in the middle of the night. In a special and festive atmostphere, the grapes are havested with the help of those beloved by the winery—coming from all over the country and the world for this purpose. The grapes go through a stringent sorting before crushing and treatment. The wine is matured in 70% French, 30% American wood barrels for a period of 36 months. The outcome is a great, rich, full-bodied, and flawless wine with depth and many layers. An intricate, pleasurable wine, with a maturing ability for many years.
