Chanin Wine Company Los Alamos Vineyard Chardonnay 2012

This wine explodes with aromas of lemon custard, matched with an undeniable freshness and hints of pineapple and exotic fruit. On the palate, the wine opens with bright fruit flavors, evolving into a rich mid-palate. A crisp, saline finish rounds out this expressive Chardonnay.

Chanin Wine Co. is dedicated to crafting wines from Santa Barbara County that reflect the individual vineyard in which they are grown. They focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, two grapes that are especially revealing of subtle differences in geography, geology, and climate. This Chardonnay comes from a high elevation site on Los Alamos Vineyard, where the soil changes from typical Los Alamos sand to calcaric shale and limestone. The grapes were handpicked on September 4, and barrel fermented in French oak (15% new). At Chanin Wine Co., Chardonnay is made in the most minimalist way possible.
