The 2012 Yarden Chardonnay exhibits bright lemon, pear, and pineapple fruit notes, along with nuances of fresh flowers and French oak. This classic medium-to-full-bodied Chardonnay is pleasingly fresh, aromatic, and flavorful. While enjoyable upon release, the wine's fruit will continue opening up for a few years from vintage. The wine should remain in excellent drinking condition for five to seven years from harvest. Drink Yarden Chardonnay along with intensely flavored fish and poultry dishes, such as hazelnut-crusted chicken, creamy fettuccini alfredo, or grilled salmon with herbs. Best served at about 55 degrees F.
Produced & bottled by Golan Heights Winery, founded in 1983 in the Golan Heights. Here, in this breathtaking strip of land, everything begins with the right conditions—volcanic basaltic soil, suitable topography, and cool high-altitude climate. This unique combination is what gives Golan Heights its second name of "wine country." With over 28 vineyards that span over 1,500 acres and 4 leading brands under their belt (Yarden, Gamla, Mount Hermon, and Golan), Golan Heights Winery has played a significant role in developing and nurturing Israel's current wine culture. Yarden Chardonnay is produced exclusively from grapes grown in the cool Odem Vineyard. Barrel fermentaion and sur-lies aging for seven months helps to produce a beautifully complex wine balancing fruit and floral notes with hints of oak and butter. To preserve the quality of the wine, this bottle should be stored on its side in a cool, dark place.
