As a somewhat more powerful alternative to Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch is also playing an increasingly important role at the Glatzer winery. The typical black cherry dominates the nose, plus a lot of spice with cloves and allspice, also blackberries and some orange zest, plus leafy nuances.
Beautifully fruit-driven with sappy cherry aroma; the palate is succulent and dense; with layers of mint and blackberries. After one week of maceration this wine is aged in neutral 2000-liter casks for nine months. Pair with mild to slightly spicy dishes with red meat as well as Spanish and Mexican food.
Biokult Zweigelt meets Pinot Noir is filled with juicy, ripe dark red fruit w/ a hint of cinnamon. The palate is fresh yet plush with fleshy, luscious cherry fruit. There is freshness and drive in this little fruit bomb, which seems made for the picnic basket. Earthy crushed raspberry and earthy aromas follow through on a soft, satiny entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-body with a delicate touch of spice.
Wild cherries, ripe tomatoes, blackberries, and nougat, present berry fruit, fleshy red wine character, sweet-earthy piquancy, good acidity bite, and appropriate tannin grip.
