This wine is made from dry farmed bushvine parcels with an average age of around 240 years divided by 6. We tend to pick Cinsault relatively early. Up until now we’ve always used 100% whole cluster fermentation, with very gentle extraction work, if any. This philosophy accounts for the wines being quite “light and bright”. Over-ripe and over-extracted Cinsault can be lead-footed and syrupy. Maturation in neutral oak and in tank. Learn More

Opaque ruby core edged by a brightly youthful magenta-colored rim. You don't need to be one (connoisseur or expert) to pick up on this wine's heavenly smoky aromas intermingled with hints of vanilla, plums, blackberries, and cinnamon spice. Plush core of dense, sweetly ripe dark fruit, laced with chocolate and spice. Generously rich flavors underpinned by supple oak tannins and bright acidity, leading to a full, dry and savory finish. One sip and you'll know (have savoir faire or knowlege) that this wine pairs excellently with red meats and is a perfect accompaniment to dinner with friends. Learn More

The aromas are perfumed, peppery, spicy, smoky, and exhibit ripe red-fruit notes. As always the palate texture of this style of wine is supple, smooth on the entry but with enough grip to end dry and refreshing. In the mouth the texture and fineness of fruit tannin and drinkability of the wine is immediately evident. This wine can be enjoyed now or with careful cellaring over the next couple of years. A burst of intense rich coffee and chocolate aromas with ripe nuances of mulberry, plum, and Maraschino cherries. Perfect with everything—as an accompaniment with different meat types, rich, creamy casseroles, or even the most controversial desserts! Learn More

Deep mocha/chocolate aromas accompanied by red berries on the nose. Full bodied, plummy pallet with a strawberry finish aftertaste. This is a well balanced wine with outstanding quality. Learn More

De Toren Z 2010
WS 91 RP 91 ST 90
Rose petals, plum, and blueberry abound on the nose which leads to a frisky and well-integrated acidity that brings freshness to the taste of this elegant wine. Soft, firm, well-rounded tannins blend well with delicate notes of cinnamon, aniseed, liquorice, raspberry, and cranberries in the palate. Learn More

De Trafford Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
WS 91 ST 92
Attractive deep red colour. Intense fruitcake, complex berries and black olives. A distinct nutty character evolves and is complimented by pencil shavings and cedar from the fine French oak. Still tight, restrained and rather linear on the palate. Needs time to unfold and show itself. Decant with air and enjoy with a thick chunk of beef on the braai. Learn More

Spicy sausage, ham, turkey, gourmet pizza with rocket and pinenut. Wild game brazziola, carpaccio, hearty stews. North indian cuisine. Learn More

As the name suggests the Big Easy is bold in flavor and yet easy in demeanor. Pure, ripe, purple and red fruits immediately leap out the glass in an array of complexity, amplified by hints of rose petals and boiled sweets. Warm notes of milk chocolate and roasted coffee round off wonderful complexity and depth. The syrah-dominated palate is juicy and succulent with the Cabernet Sauvignon backbone providing an inky structure. A dash of Rhone varieties give a dried, provincial-herb edge to the exquisitely balanced finish. Learn More

Ernie Els Proprietor's Blend 2012
WS 91 V 90
Inky deep, black cherry hue and purple rim. Dark blue fruits, a hint of bacon, espresso and fig jam abound the nose. Classy oak notes and a touch of truffle further tussle with the amazing fruit purity. The palate shows fleshy tannins, a rock-solid core, and towering structure. The Shiraz adds a spicy, complex, and exotic edge, and the remaining Bordeaux varieties give finesse and depth. Sugar coated blueberries line the intense finish. Learn More
