Family owned and operated since 1890, the Broco family has what are considered to be the oldest and most sought after vines in the Bierzo D.O. Sourced exclusively from their oldest single vineyard vines 100+ years old this wine is unfiltered to maintain the fullest integrity and purity. Aromas of red and dark berry fruits accentuated by cacao and peppery spices. On the palate explosive, concentrated dark berry flavors give way to an incredibly long and focused finish.

Since 1890, the Broco family has been producing Mencia from what are considered to be the oldest and finest vines in all of the Bierzo DO. The winery is located in the town of Parandones just north of Toral de los Vados. The Rio Cua runs directly through the area. Despite cultivating vines for over 100 years, the family has never commercialized its own wines, but rather has supplied prestigious wineries from throughout the region. When Spanish Vines approached Antonio Broco, the fourth generation farmer and vineyard proprietor asking to bring his single vineyard Mencia to the United States that would carry the family name, the farmer was honored.
