Vega del Castillo Tempranillo 2007
Tempranillo (Tinta-del Pais, de Toro, Roriz, Tinto Fino) | Spain
Medium, deep, intense red-garnet color with shades of violet. Clean, soft bouquet with ripe fruit aromas (cranberries). Smooth, rounded, and well-structured palate. Ideal accompaniment to red meats or cheese.
100% Tempranillo. Located in Olite, a town in the region known as Ribera Alta, the history of Vega del Castillo dates back to when Teobaldo I, Count of Champagne, first planted his first vines after having discovered the richness of the land and its favorable climatic conditions. This paved the way for local vine growers, even up to today. Later, Charles III, "The Noble," strengthened the wine culture even further on establishing his court in Olite.
