Turk Gruener Veltliner Kremser Weinberge 2010
Pale yellow with brilliant, crystal-clear fruit. The characteristic veltliner pepper; appetizing, but harmonious acidity. Wonderful enjoyment with light, mildly spiced dishes.
Weingut Turk was established in 1836 in the Krems Valley (Kremstal), a wine region in lower Austria. In 1995, Franz Turk acquired the winery from his parents and has since carried on their traditions. Then in 2000, he took over another traditional winery with one of the best vineyards in Krem. At that time he tasted the winery's old vintages of Gruener Veltliner, all the way back to the year 1946, and was really surprised. The winemaker at that time produced these fantastic wines that showed great vinification. This interested Turk which prompted him to research their winemaking process and now that's the way Turk makes their wines. Of course it's a secret!—The end result of tradition and handcrafted art are wines unique and full of life.
