Terlato Family Vineyards Syrah 2005

Terlato Vineyards found perfect syrah conditions in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley, which shares important characteristics with France's Rhone Valley. Terlato Syrah 2005 is deep purple in color. This wine displays aromas of toast intermingled with smoked meats and flavors of black cherry, plum, and currants, with hints of violets. The Terlato family brings over 50 years of experience in the fine wine industry. The wines from Terlato Family Vineyards illustrate the family's commitment and passion to crafting world-class wine. Each varietal is developed by carefully selecting vineyards from the most esteemed viticultural area of California, insisting on limited production of handcrafted wines. These wines are authentic expressions of their region and are created with the intention of serving gastronomy. "Over 40 nyears ago, I tasted great syrahs of the Rhone Valley and decided that if we ever found the proper soil conditions in California we would make great syrah. We found the soil in Dry Creek Valley; this is our third vintage and the wine is superb" (Anthony J. Terlato).
