100% Sangiovese. Tenuta di Sesta is a 15th-century estate, located in the heart of the province of Sienna (Tuscany), near the well-known Romanesque Abbey of Sant'Antimo. The Sesta name (Roman word meaning "sixth") comes from the sixth milestone where the parish church of Saint Mary of Sexta once stood along the ancient road from Roselle to Chiusi, which was already an important Etruscan communication route. This is evidenced by the numerous archaeological findings along this road. Since 1850, the estate has belonged to the Ciacci family and they have always produced wines, while fully respecting the terroir, that expresses the intensity, elegance, and the strong character of the sangiovese grape that dominates the area.
