Sylvain Loichet Cote de Nuits-Villages Aux Montagnes 2006

A bright appearance with notes of blackcurrant and pepper, classic-duo aromas of the appellation. Nice entry to the palate with a promising structure. Slightly closed taste, but with no bitter notes.

Located in the very heart of Burgundy in Chorey-les-Beaune, Domaine Sylvain Loichet was established in 2005 when Sylvain took over his grandparents' vineyard, originally purchased in 1984. Up until that time, the vineyard had been cultivated by different wine producers. In the early days, Sylvain's wines were vinified on his parents' premises, near the Comblanchien quarries, but now most of the work is carried out in Chorey-Les-Beaune. His vineyards total 20 acres in size and are mainly situated north of Cote de Beaune and on the Cote de Nuits, in the villages of Chorey-Les-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Ladoix, Comblanchien, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Vougeot.
