StoneCap Merlot 2013
Fresh, velvety soft fruit flavors characterize the 2013 StoneCap Merlot. This Merlot is aromatically expressive with notes of plum, toffee, and hints of cassis and coffee. A juicy, medium body revolves around flavors of pomegranate, strawberry, and raspberry that evolve into a lush, full finish with notes of mocha and kirsch.
This 2013 Merlot was fermented in stainless steel tanks from vineyard blocks on our east side. The wine was pumped over twice daily to facilitate flavor development and color extraction. The wine was pressed‐off after a week‐long maceration and allowed to complete malolactic fermentation on oak, softening and polishing the mouthfeel for a smooth, textured wine. Lots were carefully selected and blended to create the best possible accentuation of the intense fruit character to be found in our estate wines.
