Woodford Reserve Distillery (Versailles, KY) has announced the release of its 2023 “Batch Proof”. Tipping the scales at 124.7 proof (62.35% ABV), it uses Woodford’s standard mash bill with direct barrel to bottle entry. The flagship brand proof being 90.4 proof, this is a sizable increase of nearly 40%.

The 2022 Jack Daniels Special Release is a one-of-a-kind experience crafted from 100% malted barley and twice barreled for a complex taste. Bottled in its truest form straight from an Oloroso sherry cask with the proof ranging from 106.1-107.8.

Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled Special Release Heritage Barrel Rye is a limited edition whiskey that is part of Jack Daniel’s annual series of special releases. It is slated for release in 2023. Its label was approved by the TTB in March 2023.

For this first-of-its-kind collaboration from Buffalo Trace Distillery, Traveller brings together the collective artistry of 8X Grammy Award-Winning Artist Chris Stapleton and Buffalo Trace Distillery Master Distiller, Harlen Wheatley.

Evolving Jack Daniel’s past aged-stated whiskey process, these Tennessee Whiskey barrels have been aging in the Buzzard’s Roost of our barrelhouse, and methodically relocated to the lower floors of different barrel houses to extend the aging process for the last 10 summers.

Rye whiskey aged in casks used to age maple syrup. As penetrating an aroma as maple is, it’s very subtle here. The nose is rye whiskey-spicy, oily, bitter/minty-with just the barest hint of maple. The maple peeps up mid-palate for a sweet turn and lingers into the finish.

Mash: 95% Rye , 5% malted marley. Nose: Baking Spices, Apricot, Fresh cut grass, Ginger. Palate: Vanilla, Mint & Sweet Orange. Finish: More mint and pepper.
