The Smirnoff brand began with a vodka distillery founded in Moscow by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov (1831-1898), the son of illiterate Russian peasants. Today, having been revived in the United States in 1934, it is distributed in 130 countries. Smirnoff products include vodka, flavored vodka, and malt beverages. Smirnoff vodkas are created by a unique process involving three distillations and ten stages of filtration to deliver smoothness and clarity.
