Scott Palazzo Napa Valley Red 2007
Like the great wines from the 'Right Bank' villages of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol in Bordeaux, Merlot makes up the lion share of the Palazzo 2007 Napa Valley Red wine and is the 'backbone' of this vintage giving the wine its power & strength. Lush and elegant mouthfeel and wonderful layers of rich cherry and blackcurrant fruit. The Cabernet Franc adds brightness, acidity, and a floral spiciness to the wine, with the Cabernet Sauvignon adding structure, character, and a long, rich finish of deep, dark fruit.
A love affair with the wines produced from the Bordeaux region of France began almost 30 years ago for Scott Palazzo. In particular, wines from the small, family-owned chateaus that dot the rolling hillsides of the beautiful 'Right Bank' countryside are what inspired Palazzo. His life-long passion and dream of producing a wine of exceptional character and style, that would capture the power and elegance of the wines he tasted and enjoyed as a young man living in France, was realized in 2005 with the release of his first vintage Palazzo Napa Valley Red wine. Palazzo's goal is to make wines of outstanding quality, depth, balance, and structure that exhibit both power and elegance on the palate, including pairing well with a broad range of foods.
