Savory & James Deluxe Manzanilla
Manzanilla is pronounced "Mahn-sah-knee-ya." An extremely dry cocktail sherry, very pale in color, and incredibly light in the body. It comes from the area of the Jerez region near the sea. The ocean air gives it a delicious, crisp aftertaste. Keep in the refrigerator and serve very chilled. Excellent before dinner as an aperitif (As dry as a martini and not as heavy).
Palomino Fino and Pedro Ximenez. Produced by Bodegas Valderrama, which was originally owned by Rumasa and has been assimilated into Grupo Garvey. Rumasa is derived from the name of Ruiz-Mateos. Its history can be traced back to 1857 when Zoilo Ruiz-Mateos Rodicio established a smalled business in Rota, Spain. In 1930 his son, Zoilo Ruiz-Mateos Camacho, set up business in Jerez. Later Don Camacho's youngest son, Jose-Maria, formed a group of companies that became the Rumasa empire—becoming an enormous, powerful force in the sherry world.
