Rosemount Estate Chardonnay Semillon 2012
Rosemount Estate, established in 1969 by Bob Oatley, is situated 4.3 miles north of the McLaren Vale township and 4.9 miles from the coast. Having created the original Australian Shiraz and responsible for bringing Shiraz to the American palette, Bob instilled a mentality learned in the coffee industry - that a quality product will always be sought out and appreciated. Today, Rosemount Estate is respected as a world wine innovator and leader. It is currently owned by Treasury Wine Estates and boasts of two cellars, at McLaren Vale (main location) and Hunter Valley, and vineyards in seven geographically diverse viticultural regions throughout New South Wales and South Australia. At the heart of the Blends range is a powerful expression of flavor. Each wine has been handcrafted to showcase the unique flavors of the varieties that are designed to delight every day of the week. The Rosemount Estate Chardonnay Semillon is the perfect balance between the delightful freshness of melon and peach of Chardonnay and the pleasant, grassy, citrus aromas of Semillon. South Australia
77% Chardonnay, 23% Semillon. Vibrant pale-straw color with a luminescent green hue. On initial assessment the aroma shows pure Chardonnay characters of ripe peach, stone fruit, red pear, and baked apple followed by cut dry-grass and lemon peel from the semillon. Bright and vibrant with zesty lime and nectarine perfectly balanced by aromas of white blossom. Elegant and soft with great texture. Ideal to enjoy with chicken, vegetarian dishes, or seafood.
